Dhamaal.com, a joint venture between Avenues that runs payment gateway CCAvenue and InfiBeam’s Buildabazaar.com has been launched.
“The venture is being pitched as a marketing and distribution marketplace created for eMerchants who are today looking for a more efficient model of customer acquisition activities.”
The company is stating that the platform is not a marketplace as it is not involved in any way with inventory stocking, fulfillment and logistics, which is purely the merchant’s responsibility. Dhamaal.com doesn’t compete with the other existing marketplaces.
“Marketplace like Amazon, Flipkart, Tradus etc. sells their own products as well as the products of merchants who register with them. So, in a way the merchants always have this insecurity of losing their customers to these marketplaces, in Dhamaal.com they can be sure that nobody will take away their business,” said an official close to the development.
There is no information on how much charges merchants will have to pay to sell on the platform. The pricing becomes significant specially when marketplace giant Amazon which has recently launched in India is offering free merchant sign-up for one year.
Currently, the website is offering products in categories such as apparel, books, mobiles, online recharge, computers, home & lifestyle, home entertainment, gifts & flowers, kids and cameras. There is an option for online recharge as well. The platform offers 30 days replacement guarantee for all products sold on Dhamaal.com provided that the company is intimated within 72 hours from the date of receipt of delivery of the products. The return policy does not apply on perishable goods like flowers, cakes etc.
